‘Stigmiographies – Grevena 1912-1940’ by Vassilis Gerodimos & Tzeni Argyriou is a commissioned work that aims to present the archive materials of the photographic album ‘Grevena 1912-1940, photographic archives and documents’ by Vaggelis Nikopoulos.
The visitor is introduced in the climate of that era, the means of recording, the people, everyday landscapes, and the historical documents of that period. For this purpose, different presentation techniques were chosen to highlight different viewing modes and models. The dialogue of the viewer with the exhibits is mainly triggered by the personal journey that he/she takes into space and time, not only the present one but also the one that the individual memory recalls. The space of presentation, the 1st Primary School of Grevena, actively contributes to the strengthening of the above experience. This public building, which was founded in 1928 as a city school, and operates from 1931 until today, acts as the strongest natural bridge from yesterday to today and vice versa.
